EPISCOPAL OFFICE ON BIOETHICS (ECB)

The Office on Bioethics:

1. Shall act as an advisory body to the CBCP regarding decisions and opinions to be taken in matters related to bioethics, and to disseminate and defend where necessary the teaching of the Church on bioethical issues, especially in the Philippine context.
2. Shall assist the CBCP in making moral judgment regarding certain moral dilemmas of bioethical concern.
3. Shall help the CBCP to shape public opinion and government policy on bioethical concerns.
4. Shall promote discussion of medico-moral issues as these touch the lives of the Filipino populace.
5. Shall see to it that the Head of the Office organize its unit, carry out its programs and whatever may be needed to accomplish the objectives of the Office.
